MILFORD – A Port Jervis man has been charged with assault by Pennsylvania State Police in connection with an incident in Milford on Christmas night.

Police charged Robert Ray Simonson, 29, with assault for allegedly choking a 31-year-old Port Jervis woman.  Simonson is accused of grabbing the victim by the neck and choking her. She sustained injuries to her neck.

Simonson was charged with simple assault and sent to the Pike County Jail.
