Chase, armed standoff ends peacefully

POCONO SUMMIT – An incident that began when police observed a vehicle on Route 940, without a license plate, ended with the driver putting a gun to his head then finally surrendering.

Police say after trying to stop the vehicle, at about 3:00 Friday morning, it sped off on 940 toward Blakeslee.  Police eventually used a spike strip to stop the vehicle near Brady’s lake.

At that point, the driver placed a gun to his head.  After about an hour of negotiations, the driver, Kevin Gleixner of Long Pond, put the gun down and surrendered.

Gleixner faces multiple charges, including illegally possessing a weapon as a felon, fleeing, reckless endangerment and receiving stolen property.
