BLOOMING GROVE – The Pike County Drug Task Force made three arrests for drug trafficking on Wednesday. The individuals were arrested on Rt 739 in Blooming Grove Township after selling 100 packets of heroin to an undercover officer.

Arrested were Douglas Bednar, age 30, of Lakeville, PA, Albert Vega, age 30, of Philadelphia, PA, and Dante Rivera, age 29 of Philadelphia, PA.

An undercover officer made arrangements with Bednar to purchase 100 packets of heroin. Bednar arrived at a pre-arranged location on Rt 739 and sold the heroin. Bednar then returned to a vehicle. After learning the individuals had rented a hotel room in Lackawanna County, members of the Pennsylvania State Police Vice Unit obtained a search warrant to search the room. Upon searching the hotel room police found $400 in U.S. Currency, a small amount of marihuana, Xanax, and a handgun.

Bednar was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication facility and two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Rivera and Vega were both charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and criminal conspiracy.
