One dead, three hurt in three-car crash on Route 6

DINGMAN TWP – Four people, all occupants of one vehicle, were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash on Route 6, near Pederson Pond Road, west of Milford, about 9:30 Monday morning. Police reported late Monday that one of the victims, Johanna Cieplinski, 77, of Milford, died of her injuries

Police say one vehicle heading east, slowed down to make a right turn.  A second eastbound vehicle struck the first vehicle, pushing it into the oncoming lane, and in the path of a westbound small SUV, which struck that vehicle.  The SUV overturned several times, ejecting two of the three passengers.

All of the occupants of the SUV were taken to Bon Secours Hospital, in Port Jervis.  At least one of the passengers sustained serious injuries and reportedly was later flown to Community Medical Center in Scranton.

The occupants of the SUV are identified as the driver, Bonnie Orebeck, 62, and passengers Moira Featherstone, 74, Shirley Ann Vella, 67 and Cieplinski.  Police did not provide addresses.

The drivers of vehicles 1 and 2 were not hurt.
