POCONO SUMMIT – A meeting involving a student, his probation officer and the student’s mother, turned rowdy at Pocono Mountain West High School Thursday morning.

Police were called to the school, and on arrival, they were met by the probation officer, Brian Holley, who was there for the meeting because of an alleged probation violation. 

Holley told police that when he took the student into custody for the violation, the mother, Dennise Maldonado, 36, of Tobyhanna, struck him in the face several times.  Several others in the school intervened to separate the two.

Maldonado was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.  She was released on unsecured $15,000 bail.
