DINGMAN TWP –  Phil Scollo announced his intention to seek the Democratic Party nomination and run for the General Assembly seat in the newly redrawn 139th Assembly District.

The district which include parts of Pike and Wayne Counties is represented by Republican Mike Peifer..

Scollo, 56, is a New York City native and has lived in Dingman Township since 1998. He is a former insurance industry executive, currently a management and organizational efficiency consultant whose clients have included major corporations.

Scollo is a past chair of the Pike County Democratic Committee. Under his leadership, the committee grew to full township enrollment, a key factor in the party’s electoral success in the 2006 and 2008.

As a family man and small business owner, Scollo says he understands and appreciates the challenges Pennsylvania, Pike County and residents of the 139th Assembly District face each and every day just to keep up.

“It’s no secret we are at a “crossroad” marked by division and a lack of civility among neighbors,” Scollo said.
