Four hurt following wild chase |

MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TWP – A driver who fled because of a suspended license, led police on a wild chase when ended with a crash and four people in the hospital. State Police say they tried to stop Alexander Nunez, 24, of East Stroudsburg, who was speeding on Route 209. Nunez fled, but the chase briefly halted when Nunez crashed when he failed to make a turn onto Tom X Road and hit a guard rail. As police approached the vehicle, he took off again, heading north on Sellersville Road, before crashing into another vehicle driven by an East Stroudsburg woman. Nunez then tried to flee, along with a young child in his car. He was quickly apprehended. Nunez and the child, and the woman and a child in the other vehicle, were all taken to Pocono Medical Center for treatment. None of the injuries appeared serious. Nunez, suspected of driving under the influence, was taken into custody. He is charged with several crimes including aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child |
