HONESDALE – A teacher at the Lakeside Elementary School in Honesdale is suspended without pay following allegations that he sexually abused a young boy several years ago. 

Kyle Cobb, 26, was not a teacher in the Wayne Highlands district at the time.  He was hired in 2010.  The alleged assaults occurred between 2005 and 2007, in Susquehanna County.

Cobb was arrested in Susquehanna County on Saturday after the victim, now age 18, reported the alleged abuse to authorities. 

According to media reports, Cobb cleared the required background checks before he was hired.  The checks are administered by state and federal agencies, including the FBI.
