Long Pond man arrested on child porn charges

TUNKHANNOCK TWP – A Monroe County man is behind bars on charges of child pornography and engaging in sexually graphic conversations with minors on the website

Between October 2016 and January 2017, detectives from the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney received numerous reports of James Lamie, 60, contacting underage girls on and then engaging in detailed and graphic conversations regarding sexual acts that he would like to perform on them.  The investigation eventually led to Lamie’s home on Spring Terrace in Long Pond.

Detectives with the District Attorney’s Office and the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department arrived at Lamie’s home Thursday evening, armed with a search warrant.  Inside, they found that Lamie’s computer was actively logged into his account.  Investigators also found child pornography images on a portable hard drive.

Lamie faces several charges, including unlawful contact with a minor, obscene and other sexual materials and performances, possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility, all felonies.  He is also facing charges of corruption of minors, a misdemeanor.   He is in the Monroe County Correctional Facility on $20,000 bail.  A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 2.
