Stroudsburg school district prepares for strike

STROUDSBURG – Stroudsburg Area School District students will have an extended weekend, by at least a day.  The district will be closed Monday, February 6, due to a teacher strike, according to a statement on the district website.

According to the statement:  “The Superintendent will provide notice of school being cancelled no later than 9:00 PM on a daily basis for each subsequent day of the strike beyond February 6, 2017.”

 Stroudsburg students who attend MCTI and/or out of district placement classes will continue to be bused for the duration of the strike as per the individual schedule given to them. All Colonial Intermediate Unit classes housed in the Stroudsburg Area School District schools will be cancelled.

Parents and students are asked to refer to the district website (www.sburg.org) for further information about the teachers' strike.
