Wayne County woman sentenced to prison on drug charges

MILFORD – A Beach Lake woman was sentenced to 18 months to 4 years in a state correctional facility, fined $3,500 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance, Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  On July 25, 2016, the Pike County Detectives searched Shannon Messersmith’s vehicle following a trip to Patterson, NJ, where Messersmith and another individual traveled to purchase heroin to sell. The detectives located over one gram of Heroin packaged for resale. On July 26, 2016, Messersmith, 40, was found in possession of 23 packs of Heroin and a needle prior to entering the Pike County Correctional Facility.

 

Other criminal sentences issued by the Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gregory Chelak:

Daniel Quinton McElnea, 27, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 121 days to 8 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for Recklessly Endangering Another Person.    The state police responded to a residence in Dingman Township on October 11, 2016, where McElnea had punched another individual in the face with a closed fist.

Eliahu Eli, 27, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 3 months to 23 ½ months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for Theft.  The Eastern Pike Regional Police responded to a residence along Delaware Drive in Westfall Township on August 10, 2014, where Eli stole items with a total value of $170.

Clifford Hall, 59, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 12 months to 24 months in a state correctional facility and fined $500 for Simple Assault.  Milford Police were dispatched to Broad Street on August 19, 2016, for a domestic dispute where Hall threatened to harm another individual and struck her in the face.

Rebecca Ann Cavezza, 25, of Kingston, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $200 for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The state police were present at Cavezza’s residence in Greene Township to take an individual into custody on August 4, 2016.  A search of the residence revealed Cavezza in possession of baggies that had contained Marihuana.

Tina Marie Hand, 52, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 5 years of probation and fined $500 for Theft.  Between July 31, 2015 and September 3, 2015, Hand took a large sum of money from her employer located in Milford Borough.

Kevin James Delonas, 29, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of probation and fined $300 for Driving Under the Influence.  Eastern Pike Regional Police found Delonas slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in a business parking lot in Westfall Township on March 18, 2016.  In speaking with Delonas, the officer detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed Delonas to be confused.  A Field Sobriety Test was conducted which showed impairment and Delonas admitted to the officer that he had been drinking earlier.  Delonas refused a chemical breath test.

Staci Emilia Clark, 47, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 5 years of the Intermediate Punishment Program which will include 120 days under house arrest, a $2,000 fine and a suspension of her driver’s license for a length of time to be determined by PennDOT, for two counts of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police responded to Winona Falls Road in Lehman Township on February 20, 2016, where Clark had crossed her lane of travel and struck another vehicle.  The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage while speaking with Clark and observed her eyes to be glossy.  Clark admitted to drinking prior to driving.  A Field Sobriety Test was conducted and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .295%.  On March 29, 2016, the state police stopped Clark for failing to heed emergency lights and talking on a cell phone while driving along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township.  In speaking with Clark, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Clark related that she had been drinking prior in the evening.  A breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .082%.

Kelly P. Lockwood, 45, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 5 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for Driving Under the Influence.  The state police responded to I-84 in Dingman Township on February 11, 2016, where Lockwood had rolled her vehicle.  Lockwood admitted to drinking and taking prescription medications prior to driving.  In speaking with Lockwood, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage, and observed Lockwood’s eyes to be bloodshot, glossy and her pupils constricted.  A Field Sobriety Test was conducted and a blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .282%.

Francis Michael Knoll, 26, of Lackawaxen, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 1 year of probation, a fine of $1,325 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and the Summary Offense of Driving on the Right Side of a Roadway.  The state police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash where Knoll’s vehicle hit another vehicle head-on along SR 590 in Lackawaxen Township on October 20, 2015.  A blood test confirmed the presence of THC and Morphine in Knoll’s blood at the time of the crash.   Various empty and full glassine packets of Heroin were strewn about Knoll’s vehicle and the crash site.

Jacob John Singer, 29, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 6 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,300 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Resisting Arrest, Accidents Involving Death or Injury While Not Properly Licensed and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The state police responded to a vehicle crash along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township on July 29, 2016, in which a passenger was injured.  Singer, the driver of the vehicle, was found to be driving without a license and was observed acting in a peculiar manner, relocating and pulling items from the vehicle and pacing along the highway holding a white handbag. Singer was noted as having pinned, non-reactive pupils.  While the trooper requested back up, Singer fled on foot.  When arrested the following day, Singer was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and empty Heroin bags.

Nikolai N. Naumov, 24, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for Driving Under the Influence.  Naumov rolled his vehicle over along I-84 in Dingman Township on March 22, 2015.  In speaking with Naumov, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed Naumov’s speech to be slurred, eyes bloodshot and glassy.  Naumov admitted to drinking prior to driving.  A breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .166%.

Alfred Snyder, 70, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 3 years of probation and fined $500 for Theft.  Between September 2013 and October 2015, Snyder took in excess of $2,000 from an individual in Dignman Township, without his permission.
