Former coach ordered to trial on over 500 counts alleging sexual abuse of minors

STROUDSBURG – A former Stroud Township man, currently of Marietta, Georgia, had his preliminary hearing in magisterial court and was ordered held over for trial.

Ron Gorman, 51, is now charged with a combined total of 513 offenses that range from rape of a child to statutory sexual assault to corruption of a minor.

Prior to the preliminary hearing, Assistant District Attorney Julieane Fry withdrew the initial complaint filed on behalf of the second victim after new information had come forward which required additional charges to be filed for the same victim.

Gorman will now be placed on the June 2017 trial term where he will face these charges in the Monroe County Courthouse.

Investigation continues as to Gorman’s victimization of juveniles while he lived in Monroe County, specifically between the 2006 – 2009. It was during this time that Gorman, as a volunteer wrestling coach, is accused of sexual misconduct with the two victims who ranged in ages between 10 and 15.

In 2009 the Gorman’s moved to Marietta, Georgia.

Gorman remains at Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1 million bail.
