Frein trial penalty phase close to going to jury

MILFORD – Eric Frein will not testify in his own defense during the penalty phase of his murder trial.  The jury could begin its final deliberations in the case later today, deciding whether Frein goes to death row, or spends the rest of his life in prison.

Frein was convicted last week on all 12 counts, including capital murder of a law enforcement officer, stemming from the 2014 killing of a state police corporal and wounding of a trooper outside the Blooming Grove barracks.
