Two East Stroudsburg men indicted for drug trafficking

SCRANTON - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced federal grand jury indictments against two men.   Both were indicted on May 9 by a federal grand jury on drug trafficking charges. The indictments were unsealed on May 22, their arrest.

Maurice Garvin, 27, of East Stroudsburg, allegedly distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute heroin on two occasions and cocaine on one occasion in April 2016, in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. All three instances are alleged to have occurred within 1,000 feet of a playground. Garvin faces up to 20 years’ imprisonment

Naaje Torres, 24, of East Stroudsburg, allegedly distributed and possessed with the intent to distribute heroin on two dates in April and July 2016, in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The indictment charges Torres with distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of Stroudsburg School District property. Torres faces up to 40 years in prison.
