Prison ordered for man who admitted trying to kill child

HONESDALE – A man who pled guilty to attempted homicide of a four-year-old boy, will spend up to 22 years in state prison.  Steven Wojtowicz was sentenced in Wayne County Court on Thursday to eight to 22 years.

Wojtowicz, 32, of Berlin Township, entered the guilty plea in April.

Police said the violence against the young boy stemmed from disputes he was having with the boy’s mother.

The boy was struck, kicked, choked and thrown against a couch.  He has fully recovered.
