Detectives say woman smuggled large quantity of drugs into jail

HAMILTON TWP - Detectives from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office charged a woman on Friday after they say she was found to be in possession of various controlled substances within the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Jenny Schleppy, 30, of Center Valley, was initially arrested by State Police on July 27th, for an outstanding warrant out of Lehigh County. She held awaiting extradition.

Corrections officers conducted a routine strip search locating over 50 Xanax pills.

She later threatened to kill herself with an overdose, prompting more searches, including of her cell, leading to the discovery of several plastic glove fingers fashioned into small bags. Schleppy admitted the bags, which she had concealed in her body, contained Molly (MDMA), bathsalts and crystal meth.

Schleppy was arraigned with bail set at $25,000.
