Body discovered in Wayne County believed to be missing Temple University student

PAUPACK TWP - Pennsylvania State Police were contacted by the city of Philadelphia Police Department and The Federal Bureau of Investigation to assist in an investigation that was ongoing there regarding a missing woman who was last seen in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 31. The investigation led to a person of interest in Paupack Township, Wayne County.

According to several media reports, the victim is Jenna Burleigh, 22, a Temple University student last seen leaving a bar near the Philadelphia campus early Thursday morning. 

On Saturday, September 2, a body was located on the Paupack Township property owned by the grandmother of a man who is a prime suspect in Burleigh’s death. Joshua Hupperterz, 29, likely will be charged with murder.

The scene will be searched and processed by the Pennsylvania State Police and the body investigation will be handled by the Wayne County Coroner's Office.
