Man charged for fighting sheriff's deputies after court hearing

STROUDSBURG - Monroe County District Attorney detectives charged Darrin Sanderson, 26, of Bangor, for resisting arrest and assaulting sheriff's deputies after having his hearing continued and his bail revoked.

Investigation determined that Sanderson intentionally threw himself into a wall outside a Courtroom in the Monroe County Courthouse while being escorted to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office's holding area. During their attempt to subdue Sanderson, deputies sustained injuries but eventually escorted him to the holding area. 

Sanderson is currently incarcerated at the Monroe County Correctional Facility after bail in a previous criminal case was revoked by the court.

Charges against Sanderson include aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.
