Police still investigating Eburg gunshots

EAST STROUDSBURG - On Tuesday, October 31, at about 11:50 PM, two Stroud Area Regional Police officers, who were out on another incident on Brown Street, heard four distinct gun shots coming from the area of South Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg Borough. The two officers ran toward the sounds and observed a large group of individuals around and inside of 303 South Courtland Street. Many of these individuals were fleeing the area. Four spent shell casings were found in the roadway in front of the South Courtland Street address. Numerous Officers then responded to the area and stopped and questioned multiple individuals. No victims were ever located at the scene, and no gunshot victims ever appeared at any of the local hospitals. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact Stroud Area Regional Police Department Detective Robert Transue at 570-421-6800 ext. 1027.

SARPD is also still investigating the shooting that occurred ten days prior on October 21st, very near to this same location where a male was found with a gunshot wound to his leg.

It is unknown if these two incidents are related.
