Visitors center coming to Milford

Community House

MILFORD – The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau will open a new Visitors Bureau in Milford. The PMVB   center will be in the first floor of the Milford Community House, the former library, at the corner of Broad and Harford streets.

“The new center will help highlight and promote the whole region and not just Milford”, Chris Barrett told the Pike County Commissioners said. “Our goal is to be open on the weekend when most of our guests are here.”

Barrett said that they hope to move in next year.

Presently tourists can visit the Chamber of Commerce office on weekdays only to receive information about what the Poconos have to offer. The new Chamber office, as well as the Economic Development Authority office, will be located on the second floor of the Community House. They hope to move into the building by February or March of 2018.

The exterior of the Community House was recently renovated.  Interior renovations will be done with a recent $200,000 grant.

“The goal is to make the building look more like the 1920’s when it was built,” said Commissioner Matt Osterberg.
