Serial bank robbery suspect facing possible life in prison

Fischer

SCRANTON – The suspect in 14 bank robberies, most in northeast Pennsylvania including Wayne County, will plead guilty.

William Fischer, 45, is accused of stealing over $200,000 from several banks over a 20-month period between December 2015, and this September.  A dozen of the 14 robberies involved a handgun.

A federal judge in Scranton reportedly has accepted a plea deal.
