Inmate on furlough recaptured after fleeing

SNYDERSVILLE – A Monroe County Correctional Facility inmate was being returned to the jail from a special furlough for drug rehab, on February 2.  While travelling on Route 33 near the Snydersville off-ramp James Bock, 45, escaped from the transport vehicle, a private passenger van.

Police encountered Bock the following day and took him into custody.  He is charged with escape, a felony, and flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, a misdemeanor.

Bock is back in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail on the new charges.
