Fugitive wanted in PA and NJ arrested in joint operation

POCONO TWP - Detectives from the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney and Morris County NJ Prosecutor’s Office ran a joint operation with assistance from the Pocono Township and Pocono Mountain Regional Police Departments in the arrest of a fugitive, Taalib Johnson, 29, wanted IN Morris County on outstanding criminal charges stemming from a 2016 offense. 

Johnson was arrested on September 24th 2016 with co-defendants Derrick Lamb and Quincy Jones for unlawful possession of a weapon (stolen handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and receiving stolen property.  Last November Johnson failed to appear in NJ Superior Court for a court motion and a warrant was issued.

Johnson was also wanted in Monroe County for failing to appear for a hearing after pleading guilty to offenses relating to DUI and unlicensed firearms.

The investigation determined that Johnson knew that he was wanted in both Monroe County PA and Morris County NJ and refused to surrender to authorities. 

Johnson was located at 140 Linden Court, Swiftwater PA, the residence of a paramour.  He was taken into custody without incident and is in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.
