Honesdale man charged with flight

HONESDALE – A Honesdale man is charged with on one count of flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, a felony.

The charge is the result of an incident on May 10, when Derek Mills-Kizer, 25, is accused of fleeing from deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, who were attempting to take him into custody on a bench warrant. The bench warrant had been issued by Wayne County Senior Judge Raymond Hamill for failure to appear for a court hearing for a parole violation for Receiving Stolen Property, a Felony.

Mills-Kizer is in the Wayne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.
