Caridi resigns as Pike Commissioner

Caridi

MILFORD – Long-time Pike County Commissioner Rich Caridi has resigned, effective May 31.  The surprise announcement was made at this morning’s Board of Commissioners meeting, which Caridi did not attend.

In a letter, which Caridi requested not be released until today’s meeting, he cited health and a desire to spend more time with his family.

Caridi, one of the two Republicans on the three-member board, is in his fourth term as commissioner and was the current vice-chairman.  He previously was a warden at the Pike County Correctional Facility.

The term runs through the end of 2019.  Persons interested in filling the vacancy have 30 days to submit a letter of interest.

Judge Gregory Chelak will make the appointment.
