Pike County Court sentences

MILFORD – The following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas Judge Gregory Chelak:

Joshua Finan, 28, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 6 months of the IP-Pike Care program which will include 30 days of house arrest, a $750 fine and suspension of his driver’s license for 12 months for Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on November 16, 2017, where Finan’s vehicle left SR 739 and crashed into the woods in Dingman Township.  In speaking with Finan, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed Finan to have bloodshot and glossy eyes, slurred speech and a confused demeanor.  Field Sobriety Tests were conducted which showed impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .156%.

Machael Johnson, 51, of Bronx, NY, was sentenced to 9 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for Retail Theft.  Johnson took assorted items with a total retail value of $417.38 from a business in Blooming Grove Township on August 18, 2017, without paying for the merchandise.

Daniel Desseauve, 34, of Barryville, NY, was sentenced to 11 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for Receiving Stolen Property.  Desseauve did receive, retain or dispose of four computers and five vacuums taken from a retail store in Westfall Township on December 27, 2017, knowing that they had been stolen.
