Murder-suicide leaves three dead

SALEM TWP – State Police from the Honesdale and Blooming Grove stations responded to a private residence located on Eisenhauer Road in Salem Township, Wayne County around 8:30 Tuesday night after neighbors contacted Wayne County 911 to report hearing arguing and multiple gunshots from the house next door.

Troopers found Carrie Martini, 45, on the ground just outside the front door, dead with an apparent gunshot wound .

Neighbors reported that they believed Martini had been arguing with was her ex-boyfriend, William Rowan, 60, from Lake Ariel. Martini and Rowan recently ended their relationship. Martini recently began dating Dale Thomas, 61.

A State Police Special Emergency Response Team entered the house and found all three dead.

It was determined that Rowan appeared at Martini's residence earlier in the evening, confronting her and Thomas. During the confrontation, the Rowan apparently shot and killed both Thomas and Martini. He then committed suicide by shooting himself.

Autopsies are to be scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
