Police say drunk driver tried to run down people on walking trail

SALEM TWP – State Police arrested a New Jersey man Monday morning after he allegedly drove a pickup truck on a walking trail in Salem Township Municipal Park and appeared to be aiming for two 65-year-old pedestrians.  No one was injured.

Christopher Gaffney, 56, of Manchester NJ, was charged with DUI, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving and trespass.  He was sent to the Wayne County Prison.
