Cellphone in a restroom results in jail time

MILFORD - A Lords Valley man was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 2 years of probation and fined $3,000 for Attempt/Wiretap Violation and 14 counts of Invasion of Privacy.  Caitland Williams, 23, placed a cell phone in the female restroom at a restaurant and a gas station in Blooming Grove Township between November of 2015 and December 24, 2015, to video the occupants of the restroom engaged in private activity.  Williams will be subject to sexual offender registration for a period of fifteen years as a result of his conviction.

Other criminal sentences issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Victoria Marques, 25, of Lake Ariel, PA, was sentenced to 144 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $400 for Reckless Endangerment of Another Person and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The state police were dispatched to a room in a motel in Palmyra Township on May 4, 2018, where Marques was residing with another individual and a two-year-old child.  Marques was found in possession of Heroin packets.

Bolivar Vasquez, 27, of Brooklyn, NY, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $300 for Access Device Fraud.  Vasquez used counterfeit credit cards to make purchases at a retail store in Westfall Township on June 2, 2017.

Dwayne Cantelmo, 45, of Stormville, NY, was sentenced to 1 month to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 2 years of probation and fined $300 for Simple Assault.  Cantelmo struck an eleven-year-old individual in the face, knocking him to the ground at a location in Dingman Township on May 27, 2018.

Leighton Neil, 54, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 5 years of the Pike Care IP Program which will include 12 months of house arrest, a fine of $2,500 and a driver’s license suspension of 18 months for Driving Under the Influence.  On September 3, 2017, the state police were dispatched to a one-vehicle crash along Decker Road in Lehman Township where Neil drove his vehicle off the road and into a ditch.  While speaking with Neil, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Neil admitted to consuming wine prior to driving.  Neil was also observed to have bloodshot eyes.  Field Sobriety Tests were conducted and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .197%.

Melissa Rockwell, 41, of Tafton, PA, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $600 for Criminal Trespass and Theft.  Rockwell entered a residence in Palmyra Township between December 1, 2016 and December 11, 2016, and took various items including guitars, board games, video games and clothing, without the property owner’s permission.

Tahrabia Gonzalez, 24, of New York, NY, was sentenced to 114 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief and Possession of a Small Amount of Marihuana.  Eastern Pike Regional Police responded to a disturbance at a hotel parking lot in Westfall Township on May 28, 2017, where Gonzalez had damaged a vehicle.  Gonzalez resisted the officers’ attempt to place her under arrest.  On June 7, 2017, Gonzalez was found in possession of Marihuana at her preliminary hearing in Milford Borough.

Jeffrey Britton, 55, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 2 days to 4 days in the Pike County Jail and fined $100 for Possession of a Small Amount of Marihuana.  Milford Borough Police pulled over a vehicle along Broad Street in Milford on January 10, 2015, for suspicious behavior after having observed Britton re-enter the vehicle as a passenger.  The officer detected the smell of Marihuana in speaking with the driver and Britton.  Britton was arrested on an outstanding warrant and a search of the vehicle revealed Marihuana. 

Krystal Rentas, 22, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to a $100 fine for the Summary Offense of Disorderly Conduct.  Rentas used a vehicle without the owner’s permission at a residence located in Lehman Township on December 15, 2016.

Matthew Wichtendahl, 44, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 66 days to 23 ½ months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for Theft.  Wichtendahl cashed a fraudulent check in the amount of $3,950 at a retail store in Westfall Township between February 1, 2018 and February 15, 2018, knowing that the check was no good.
