Delaware Valley student killed in crash

DINGMAN TWP – A head-on crash late Sunday night on Milford Road (Route 2001) claimed the life of a Delaware Valley High School junior.

District Superintendent Dr. John Bell identified the student as Kyle Pascoe, who attended elementary, middle and high school in the district.  Pascoe was active in many sports.

A police account of the accident did not mention Pascoe by name but said the victim’s car was heading north on 2001 when it drifted into the oncoming lane and hit an oncoming pickup truck.  Pascoe reportedly died later at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis.

“It is with great sadness that I write to you about the passing of a DVHS student,” said Bell, in a statement posted on the district website. “The loss of a fellow student is a difficult situation that can create a high level of stress and anxiety in students.”

The high school counseling staff, along with assistance from the district’s crisis response team, is providing counseling to students and staff.

The driver of the pickup, a Dingmans Ferry man, was taken to the hospital for observation.
