Three ESU students arrested as part of violent drug distribution ring

EAST STROUDSBURG – Three students from Philadelphia were arrested following an early morning operation conducted by the Monroe County Drug Task Force, and charged with possession with intent to deliver and related offenses.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s office identified the students as and Quamir Lindsay, 20, Rasheed Muhammad, 19, and Shaheed Muhammad, 19, all charged with possession with intent to deliver and related offenses.

The search warrants were part of a larger investigation into two rival marijuana dealing groups operating on the campus of East Stroudsburg University, known as the “Philly Boys” and the “Neighborhood Boys”.  The rivalry between the two groups has resulted in several instances of violence, including shootings and assaults.

The search resulted in the seizure of digital scales, packaging material, approximately two ounces of marijuana, ten prepackaged bags bags containing two to three grams of marijuana, three prepackaged bags each containing approximately 1 gram of cocaine, and multiple cell phones.
