Voter fraud reported Pike County

MILFORD - The Pike County Commissioners announced that a case of apparent voter fraud occurred in Pike County during Tuesday's election.

Commissioner Matt Osterberg said it was reported in the Dingmans 1 district at the Milford Bible Church in Dingman Township Tuesday morning. A man tried to vote only to have poll workers say he apparently had already voted.

Apparently, someone else had voted but signed in using the second voter’s name.

After the man proved his identity, election officials reported the fraud to the Board of Elections office in Milford. The Pike County solicitor was informed and then proceeded to call the Pike County District Attorney. Within the hour, detectives were sent to the polling place to investigate the fraud.

Some voters near the person allegedly committing the fraud are being questioned and detectives are searching security cameras from the church.

County Solicitor Tom Farley said that the act is considered a felony, and when caught, the person will be prosecuted.
