Honesdale man arrested several charges including drugs, assault, terroristic threats

HONESDALE – Borough Police arrested a man Thursday night on charges of terroristic threats and seized a safe containing more than $10,000 in cash and an array of illegal drugs.

Wayne County District Attorney Patrick Robinson said Pierre Schandall, 27, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, possessing instrument of crime, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Honesdale Borough Patrolmen David Clark and Keith Rynearson responded to a disturbance outside 1037 Main Street. The officers say Schandall had gotten into a disagreement with his neighbors and during the argument brandished a gun in an attempt to terrorize them.

When police spoke to Schandall in his apartment, they detected an overwhelming odor of burnt marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The patrolmen obtained consent to search the apartment, where a black pellet gun and a small safe were found. There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the safe.

The safe contained $10,800 in cash, a large amount of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, numerous scheduled drugs and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Schandall was sent to the Wayne County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County Court today.
