Monroe man charged with possession of child pornography

SCRANTON - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Jonathan Brownlee, 41, of Long Pond, was indicted by a federal grand jury for possession of child pornography.

The indictment alleges that Brownlee committed the offense between August 2017 and April 10, 2018. The indictment further alleges that Brownlee possessed and accessed with intent to view images of child pornography, including images of minors under the age of 12. The indictment also states that Brownlee committed the offense after having been convicted of receipt and distribution of child pornography in 2012 in federal court.  

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pocono Mountain Regional Police.  

Brownlee faces 10 to 20 years in prison and a lifetime term of supervised release.
