Frein verdict, death sentence, upheld

HARRISBURG – The verdict and death sentence given to convicted cop killer Eric Frein was upheld by Pennsylvania’s highest court.

The state Supreme Court affirmed the 2017 verdict rendered in Pike County by an imported jury.

Frein was convicted of ambush killing Corporal Bryon Dickson and critically wounding trooper Alex Douglass as they left the Blooming Grove barracks in 1914.  He was captured in Monroe County after a 48-day manhunt.
