Two arrested on drug charges

COOLBAUGH TWP - A search warrant was issued for the address of 4719 Norwood Lane in Tobyhanna, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation and executed by Pocono Mountain Regional Police.  When police executed the warrant Tuesday morning, they found Jeffrey Brickle and his girlfriend, Krista Leggieri, along with their four children, ages 9, 6, 1, and 1 month.

Brickle was arrested on an existing arrest warrant from New Rochelle City Police Department in New York, charged with arrest prior to requisition, and incarcerated at the Monroe County Correctional Facility without bail, pending his extradition back to NY.

As a result of the search warrant PMRPD Detectives located significant evidence that Brickle and Leggieri were engaged in the illegal trafficking of heroin and/or fentanyl, marijuana, and marijuana oils or synthetics. Located were bulk quantities of each marijuana, fentanyl/heroin, as well as bagged marijuana and medical strains of marijuana for street level sale, boxes and hundreds of yet unused baggies for packaging heroin and marijuana, digital scales and utensils used to cut and bag heroin, as well as communications with customers that they were selling narcotics to. Photographs were also located of bulk quantities of marijuana, US currency, and firearms. All items of evidence located were accessible to all present inside of the home, including the children.

A handgun, reported stolen a year ago in Poughkeepsie, NY, was recovered.

Multiple felony and misdemeanor charges were filed against both suspects.  Brickel was denied bail.  Leggieri’s bail was set at $50,000.

The children were placed in the protective custody of Monroe County Children and youth.
