Second child porn arrest this week in Monroe County

EAST STROUDSBURG – An East Stroudsburg man was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges following a lengthy investigation by County Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division of the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney.

In August, detectives received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning a Dropbox account that was being used to store child pornography.  That Dropbox account, which detectives were able to connect to Justin Gomez, 23, contained several pictures of children, some as young as four years old, engaged in sex acts with adults.

On Thursday, county detectives and officers from the Stroud Area Regional Police Department arrived at Gomez’s Spangenburg Avenue home armed with a search warrant.  Gomez, who was home at the time, admitted to detectives that it was his Dropbox account which had been reported but he denied knowing about the child pornography.

Gomez is charged with several felonies, including possession of child pornography and criminal use of communication facility.  He is the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu $10,000 bail.

Earlier this week, a Stroud Township man was arrested on similar charges.
