HONESDALE – Hilda Reck’s blood alcohol count was three times the legal limit when she injured a 13-year-old girl in a hit-and-run accident last January.  For Reck, it was her third DWI.

Reck, 71, was sentenced to from one to five years in prison.

The Lake Ariel woman hit the girl who had gone to her mailbox on Route 191.  Reck admitted she was on her way to purchase more alcohol.

The victim was injured but has recovered.

She and her attorney pleaded for compassion, noting she has sought treatment for alcohol abuse during her time in jail since the accident.
