PMVB promotes “staycations”

A rodeo, Saturday, is one of many events planned for the
146th annual Wayne County Fair

POCONO MOUNTAINS - The “staycation” trend is old news to the Pocono Mountains (www.800poconos.com) of northeastern Pennsylvania, which built its storied reputation in the early 1900s when nearby city-dwellers flocked to the bucolic region to enjoy festivals, fairs and convenient accommodations.  Over the past century the Pocono Mountains has fine-tuned its “staycation standbys,” now offering a wide array of distinctive late-summer festivals for the 30 million people located within a three hour drive … and one tank of gas … of the region.

Festival-goers will find abundant accommodations from value-added hotels and family-friendly resorts to charming inns and B&Bs.

Several events remain on the summer calendar in the region, including the Wayne County Fair which begins today and continues through  August 9.
