Two Honesdale residents killed in New York State crash

NEW ROCHELLE NY – A crash involving a car and a tractor trailer killed the two occupants of the car, both residents of Honesdale, in Wayne County.  Police identify the victims as the driver of the car, Jason French, 28, and the front-seat passenger, Megan Williams, 19.

State Police in New York say the accident happened on Interstate 95 at approximately 12:45 Monday morning.  The car with the two victims hit the rear of a tractor trailer northbound on I-95 at milepost 6.7 in the City of New Rochelle. French and Williams suffered massive head trauma and died at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, a Delaware man, was not injured.

New York State Police is asking anyone who observed the tan Nissan Sentra with Pennsylvania plates shortly before the collision to contact SP Tarrytown at 914-524-0223.
