TOBYHANNA TOWNSHIP – Quick action by lifeguards is credited with saving the life of a 5-year-old New York City girl who disappeared while swimming at the private Pocono Lake Preserve Monday afternoon. 

Lifeguards noticed the girl missing and immediately started diving in the murky water.  The girl was found.  CPR was administered and she started breathing.  She may have been underwater for up to four minutes.

The child was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital, to be checked out.  She is expected to fully recover.
