Murder suspect headed to trial |

STROUDSBURG – The man accused of killing a Blakeslee man a month ago, in a rural area of Chestnuthill Township, has been ordered to trial. Fritz Dejoie, 21, is accused of shooting Steven Santillo, 47, whose body was found in the middle of Hypsie Gap Road on state game lands, July 10. During a preliminary hearing, police said evidence they developed showed the meeting in the remote area may have involved money Santillo owed Dejoie, in a drug deal. Following his arrest, Dejoie claimed he killed Santillo in self defense. Prosecutors raised what they claimed were inconsistencies in Dejoie’s account. Dejoie remains held without bail. |
