MILFORD - The United Way Board of Directors is pleased to report that 21 local Pike County Human Service agencies will benefit from the generous donations to its 2007-08 fund raising Campaign. Contributors supporting this campaign allowed UWPC to offer hope and support where it is needed most in our community. “The Pike County United Way takes its stewardship of your donation very seriously and minimizes its overhead and other costs so the vast majority of your donation goes to help the community.” said Christine Obser, United Way Board President. Thanks to the 2007-08 campaign donations, UWPC was able to allocate $90,000 between the following agencies:
The Campaign Allocation committee includes a cross section of dedicated, objective community-aware business groups and leaders working to provide a balanced, comprehensive distribution process. “Agencies that request aid from the United Way of Pike County, know that the application process is a fair and thorough evaluation matching available funds to real need and donators can be assured that their money is used where it is needed most”, said Sue Robbins, UW Board Member. On behalf of these 21 Agencies supporting the community of Pike County, the United Way Board of Directors asks that you please accept our heartfelt thank you for all you have done for those in need and asks for your continued support during the 2008-09 campaign. If you are interested in making a donation call the United Way office at (570)-296-9980. For more information about the United Way of Pike County or any of its events, visit www.unitedwaypike.org.
