Arts grants announced for Monroe County

HARRISBURG - Three Monroe County arts groups have received four grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts totaling $15,105, according to Rep. Mario M. Scavello (R-Monroe).

"Music, dance and the arts will be receiving a boost from this round of state grants," Scavello said.

The following groups will be receiving grant money from the PCA for the support of a pass through grant to Pocono Arts Council:

  • East Stroudsburg University, $703, to support the East Stroudsburg University Dance Company.
  • Pocono Arts Council, two grants totaling $13,075, to support local arts ($5,905) and Arts in Education regional multi-residency program ($7,170).
  • Pocono Bluegrass and Folk Society, $1,327, in Pennsylvania Partnership for the Arts Program.

The mission of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is to foster the excellence, diversity and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania and to broaden the availability and appreciation of those arts throughout the state.
