Delaware Valley holding its own despite state budget impasse

WESTFALL TWP – Delaware Valley school officials say the state budget impasse is hurting, but their situation is not critical, yet.  The district is short $3.3 million, for the July and August payments.  That’s 30 percent of annual budget.

Business Administrator William Hessling said they typically get a large percentage of property tax money in before September 30, from property owners who want two percent discount.  Whether the economic slump will affect that this fall is something Hessling will discuss with tax collectors.

The state is in its eighth week without a budget, that was due July 1.
