PMCVB names Sports Marketing Manager

STROUDSBURG - Brent Postal, a recent Bloomsburg University graduate and accomplished writer, is the new Sports Marketing Manager at the Pocono Mountains Convention & Visitors Bureau.  In his new position, Brent will be responsible for increasing business from the sports and recreation market, identifying opportunities for events in the four-county region and implementing sales programs to bring more of these sporting events to the Pocono Mountains.

According to Postal, "The Pocono Mountains region is a compelling and unique location that has the potential to host high level sports competitions and events.  I believe that by getting a stronger hold on attracting these events, we will maximize the use of our facilities and better utilize the 2400 square miles that the Pocono Mountains has to offer.  I am excited to reach to a new clientele and bring the excitement of sports competitions and other special events to our region. "

Postal has strong experience and knowledge in the outdoor recreation and service industry, and has worked the last two years with North Fork Anglers in Cody, Wyoming.  While there, Postal served as a sales associate and fly fishing guide, while performing managerial duties and providing angling advice for the Rocky Mountains region.  While attending Bloomsburg University, Postal also wrote for the Sentinel Newspaper as an outdoor correspondent, publishing over 60 fishing and hunting articles.

Since 2005, Postal has had publications in several highly regarded outdoor magazines including American Angler, Southwest Fly Fishing, PA Trout, Grape Vine and PA Outdoor Times.  He plans to continue to write about outdoor sporting events in the Pocono Mountains region, and will soon be starting an outdoor sports blog to be found on www.800poconos.com.
