Grants target underage drinking |

HARRISBURG – Two Monroe County organizations are among 68 across the state to receive grants, totaling $700,000, to support initiatives aimed at preventing underage and high-risk drinking, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board announced today.
“It’s vital to support our community leaders and educators as they work to discourage underage and high-risk drinking,” said Liquor Control Board Chairman P.J. Stapleton. “On behalf of my fellow board members, Thomas Goldsmith and Robert Marcus, we are proud to invest in programs that will improve and protect the lives of young Pennsylvanians.” The Liquor Control Board grants help fund prevention programs that are focused on underage and college-youth alcohol consumption, as well as initiatives supporting law-enforcement investigations of underage access. Since 1999, the PLCB has awarded $3.75 million in grants to 233 entities. |
