New York City man drowns in Delaware

TOWN OF HIGHLAND – The fourth person this season to drown in the upper Delaware River has been identified as a Staten Island man.  Salvatore Valenziano, Jr., 20, went under while trying to swim across the river, at Minisink Ford, just south of Lackawaxen, Friday evening.

Valenziano, and several companions were attempting to cross from New York to Pennsylvania.  The victim got into trouble.  His friends pulled him to shore and attempted CPR.  He was dead on arrival at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis.
