Five arrested after brawl near carnival

MOUNT POCONO – Pocono Mountain Regional Police say things got out of hand as they were trying to disperse people after the closing of a carnival in Mount Pocono late Monday night.  The crowd on Belmont Avenue, which included several young people, refused to leave and became rowdy. 

Officers eventually gained control and arrested five, including two juveniles.  The five adults rae identified as Jermain Peterkin, 19, Tyshawn Somerville, 21, and Erinn Walker, 18.  Charges include rioting, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The disturbance reportedly followed a fight at the carnival.  One person was punched and two others were arrested on disorderly conduct charges.
