BLOOMING GROVE – A Hawley man died when he apparently lost control of his car late Wednesday night.  Police identify the victim as Robert Prout, 67, dead at the scene of the 10:30 p.m. accident.

Prout’s car, heading north on Centerbrook Drive, left the road, colliding with a drainage ditch, rocks, flower boxes and trash can holders.  Prout apparently was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation continues.  It is not known if the rainy weather might have been a factor.
